section 1 of 22026 Spartan Invite
We were up well before the ass crack of dawn today to head down to Madison for a jeff meff volleyball tournament special.
I saw that nasty creature from across the street in a coffee shop and I couldn't help but snag a photo. Shouts to bucky:

In their first match, they were overmatched right out of the gates. There's a certain level of competition, often when size plays a major factor, where they just can't quite reach that level. They fought like hell in the second set though - they always fight like hell.
0-2 against the Franklin Sabers (the eventual champs of the tourney).
Uh oh, here we go again......
Now, against the Madison East Purgolders it was a different story, a story framed in domination. Well, at least the first set - the second set was touch and go until they pulled away in the last half of the set. 2-0 W.
Again, again.....
As you may or may not know about me, I am a leo, and as such, I snapped a bunch of photos with me and a lion. Lions were everywhere today. Myself included.
In the first set of the third match against Burlington Demons our terrors and ya boi, mr. meff, might have played their best set of the year.
That was followed by all of these bois just being gassed and losing the second set - to include clark getting hurt, noah showing signs of fatigue, an multiple others also showing signs of running out of gas.
As is typically the case though, they battled back in the third set to advance to the Silver bracket. 2-1 W.
You can't escape without the trifecta......
Just my partner in crime and I chasing kids around today.
They ended up matching up against Appleton North Lightning in the fourth match and while they were competitive, they couldn't overcome clark not being at full strength, and the rough schedule of the day. No more left in the tank. Full stop.
I'm guessing at logging them as having finished tenth in the tourney because they never kept the GSheet updated with the final standings. 10 out of 24 (ish).

It was parents night tonight at Appleton West. ms. ray and I have have done a few things right. Staring with:
noah wrote me a lovely note that was just the right amount of jeff meff. I......almost......got emotional. Good lad.
Speaking of parents, look who snuck into the gym with us. Shouts to the original momma bear.
Oh no......here we go......
Ultimately, they dominated Oshkosh tonight and came away with a three set to zero victory. It wasn't even close, which meant short match, which meant getting home right in time for the brewer game.
It was such a blowout that they even let mr. meff serve in front of grandma.

donnie and crew have shown up strong this high school season, including bringing terri to the game tonight. Earlier this season I even heard the sterling sharpe story referenced in the comments section of an earlier chronicle.
Oh, and gina mentioned how cute fern is 'round these parts. I would admit that he's the real star of the show.

section 3 of 4Let's rewind real quick tho......after breakfast, the bois and I got back into it, starting with some pokemon to go with some lego and then skipping back to both battleship and air hockey.
For the record, I ended up 2-0 in battleship, 6-0 in air hockey, and 0-1 in solving a rubix cube. These little dudes love their cubes apparently.
